Grand in its ambition yet refined in its details, De Bruynvis is a statement property. Acquired with the aim of creating office spaces, we transformed this former school into the palatial setting for Scotch & Soda’s marketing and design departments. Beyond the imposing facade you’ll find a light interior. Smooth marble and herringbone parquet deck the hallways and rooms, set alight by bright copper detailing. We opened up spaces with glass frames while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. With De Bruynvis we both preserved the property’s character and tailored it for and with Scotch & Soda.

Unassuming from afar but remarkable inside, the Timmerwerkplaats is a great example of redundant industrial property receiving a new purpose. As part of the decommissioned NDSM shipyard, we wanted this erstwhile carpentry factory to maintain its heritage. Countless steel beams and rivets were left in place but new elements were added. Including modular and multilayered office spaces that provide state-of-the-art functionalities. Monumental yet forward looking, the building’s broad facade and strong lines give it a powerful presence. Capping off the structure is an intimate tower room with beautiful views over Amsterdam. Inside, the baroque ballroom is a well kept secret, surrounded by light open plan offices. Like a ‘zonnewijser’ or sundial, the round marble staircase radiates out onto all floors. The Zonnewijser is Karl Lagerfeld’s headquarters. It has been under extensive renovations, with a careful focus on preserving its unique architecture and characteristics whilst transforming it into a dynamic and sustainable working hub. A similar mix of classic and modern stands at the heart of the Karl Lagerfeld brand. In Spring 2019 over 150 Karl Lagerfeld employees moved into the Zonnewijser.

Wat je gaat doen:
